CARLA GRAVES earned her Master’s degree in Human Nutrition from Drexel University in June 2014. Carla has always been passionate about health and wellness. She has a B.S. in Health and Exercise Science from Wake Forest University. Upon graduating with her B.S., she served in the US Army for five years as a Medical Service Corps Officer. She has volunteered at Chester County Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) and as a Spanish Interpreter in a community health clinic. As a mother of a young child, she is particularly interested in pediatric nutrition and maternal health issues. Carla enjoys running, yoga, and experimenting in the kitchen. She will be completing Drexel University’s Individualized Supervised Practice Program (ISPP) on her path to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
DOROTHY HANRAHAN earned her Master’s degree in Human Nutrition from Drexel University in June 2014. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in French Language from the College of Charleston. Dorothy has worked in research in Drexel’s nutrition and exercise physiology laboratory. She also assisted partners working with Independence Blue Cross Foundation on a 3-year intervention targeting childhood obesity prevention throughout the Philadelphia school district. Dorothy has regularly volunteered in the food preparation facilities at Metropolitan Area Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance (MANNA) and Operation Ava, a no-kill animal shelter. Her career interests include community and lifestyle intervention, pediatrics, diabetes, and food hypersensitivities. Dorothy enjoys playing field hockey, running, practicing yoga, cooking, traveling and studying foreign languages. She will be a dietetic intern at the Medical University of South Carolina in route to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
MARGARET MERLIE earned her Master of Science degree in Human Nutrition in June 2015 from Drexel University. She previously earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Shippensburg University. For the past several years, Margaret has been working as a corporate health screening provider to help employees “know their numbers” and create ways to fit health and fitness into an often times hectic life schedule. An American College of Sports Medicine (ASCM) certified personal trainer, Margaret also coached high school level track and field and worked at a local YMCA wellness center, where she enjoyed seeing the progress others made toward their health and fitness goals. Margaret’s hobbies include running, hiking, biking, and volunteering in the community. Margaret will be completing the Sodexho Allentown Dietetic Internship in route to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
MICHELLE OSTRAN earned her M.S. in Human Nutrition from Drexel University in 2013. She recently completed the Iowa State Dietetic Internship and recently accepted a position with the Jersey Shore Medical Center. Michelle has been a nutrition educator with the Eat.Right.Now. program. She attended Penn State University where she received a B.S. in Nutritional Sciences. Michelle’s hobbies include sailing, cooking and traveling.
NICOLE SELLERS-HANSEN earned her Master’s degree in Human Nutrition from Drexel University in June 2014. After earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Delaware Valley College, Nicole worked in the weight loss industry as a nutrition counselor. During this time, Nicole was able to sit face to face with people to provide them with guidance, encouragement, and ideas to help them on their weight loss journey. Nicole is also an American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) certified personal trainer and is dedicated to an active lifestyle herself. Nicole is currently completing a dietetic internship with the VA of Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System in route to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
